In true Housbrianowens.tvives fashion, the drama we left off with last week will take a bit longer to simmer. That way, when it inevitably gets brought up again, each of the ladies will really feel the sting of festering anger. Kandi and Porsha’s beef, which allegedly stemmed from the Kandi-Phaedra feud, will seemingly make a comeback sometime in the future; however, this week is all about Cynthia reconnecting with Peter and Kandi dealing with even more drama in her inner circle. We even get a surprise visit from everyone’s favorite unhinged boyfriend, Matt.

To kick things off, Kenya and Cynthia meet up to take their babies for a walk, and no, we’re not talking about kids — it’s all about the puppies. In the midst of having to watch Kenya lick her dog’s tongue, Cynthia learns some startling involving her soon-to-be ex-husband: Peter invited Kenya to be the hostess for his Bar One club opening. And Cynthia had no idea. “I’m glad you told me,” she says to an otherwise oblivious Kenya. Apparently, Miss “Gone with the Wind Fabulous” didn’t see how it would be a problem to go without telling Cynthia; she even invites her to tag along as a guest. If this says anything at all, it’s that Peter will not completely leave Cynthia’s life without taking some of Cynthia’s precious friends with him.

Backstabbing and asking for what isn’t rightfully owed seems to be common behavior in the ATL, as Kandi has to deal with a disgruntled ex-employee and “friend” of the Kandi Coated Nights gang. Her ex-assistant and event planner, Johnnie, was let go a weeks prior for not giving his full attention to her business, but as far as Kandi, he understood the circumstances and left on a peaceful note.

Well, a social media post from the man throws that idea out the window: Johnnie called out Kandi and her on Instagram for being “fake.” Kandi gives Todd the lowdown on the assistant drama, unsure of how to deal with the passive-aggressive, attention-seeking post. Her bigger fish to fry with Porsha gets brought up, too, but Todd shoots that down pretty quickly and tells Kandi to focus on her businesses instead of what Porsha thinks of her.

It’s a good thing for Kandi her frenemy is too busy setting up a chapter in life to come for her again. Porsha is finally forced to move out of her old house, putting the crib on the market for a home and fresh start. It’s not that she disliked her current home; she just needed to take on a space that reflected the, nonviolent woman she wants others to believe she is. We learn this via a scene of her packing up the kitchen. Apparently, her mother had helped the night before but left out a whole bottle of spray whipped cream. Why there was a fresh bottle there, no one knows, but Porsha decides to just throw the rest of her kitchenware into a box and head for the hills and greener pastures.

In her own form of reinvention, Shereé reveals that during the time her chateau was getting made — so, like, three years ago — she was also working on her first novel. Originally intended as a memoir, Shereé took the idea a bit further, turning her real-life stories into greater dramatized moments featuring fictional characters. So far there’s only one book, but according to the meeting she has with an overly complimentary publisher, it looks like a whole series of dramatic novels could be coming from Shereé. Move over, Sweet Valley High, She by Shereé is ready to whoop your butts with her tales of the Atlanta elite getting down and dirty — in more ways than one.

The only problem is edits are still needed and she hasn’t made a great deal of progress on those final details. In addition, she still has Bob coming after her for loving, but playing her typical-but-oh-so-enjoyable-to-watch games, Shereé puts him on the ropes until he can prove he can commit emotionally, physically, and mentally. Only time will tell, but we’ve got to give Bob some credit for his insistence on keeping Shereé in his life. He knows he doesn’t deserve her — and well, so do we — so it’s nice to see someone realize their place.

If only Johnnie could take a cues from Bob. During the 4th Annual “Bedroom Kandi” Convention, Kandi realizes she’ll have to see her ex-assistant after settling down from the shock of his aggressive Instagram post. Being the independent and hardcore woman she is, Kandi decides to confront him about the post, pointing out they left things amicably. For his part, Johnnie disagrees, telling Kandi he should’ve been pulled aside to have a discussion, rather than unceremoniously let go.

Kandi doesn’t really jive with this reaction, and she calls him out for being pompous and ungrateful for the opportunities she’s given him in building his own business. Johnnie looks on in either boredom or disbelief — it’s hard to tell underneath the embarrassment he must clearly be feeling for having to answer for his mistakes. He then says that in his opinion, he wasn’t paid enough for the quality and quantity of his work. This sends Kandi over the edge, forcing her to flee the moment in time so she could focus on what matters.

Johnnie being Johnnie, though, gets the idea to create even more drama. For no reason — other than to get more airtime — Johnnie goes to Phaedra’s law offices to plead his case against Kandi and the “unpaid wages” she apparently owes him. “He looks like he’s ready to meet Jesus in this little outfit,” says Phaedra as she finally realizes the identity of the man in the suit. Phaedra is just as surprised as we are about his visit, reminding us all “Kandi and Johnnie have been closer than two butt cheeks,” so his appearance without Kandi there feels out of place. Phaedra clearly loves knowing drama is about to unfold, so she hears Johnnie out before sending him to a different lawyer, freeing her of moral responsibility of representing him.

While not a lawsuit, the divorce between Cynthia and Peter should have been done ages ago, and yet Peter still seems to be holding out hope. Crashing Peter’s club opening, Cynthia shows up “looking like an ice-cream cone,” sending Peter into a fit of happiness — until he learns Kenya won’t be coming so she can avoid her stalker, Matt. Suddenly, Kenya does show up and Matt isn’t far behind. While she hides in the back of her car to let her bodyguard take care of the situation, Matt throws a punch, giving the bodyguard a reason to really do some damage. Before he can get a good slug in, though, Matt runs off, leaving Kenya to act shocked this sort of behavior happened again.

Meanwhile, Cynthia gives Peter respectful props for his great work. Peter interprets this as flirting and invites her back to his place for a little reconciliation. Thankfully, Cynthia declines, calling the whole come-on “awkward.” As far as the potential lawsuit coming Kandi’s way, Johnnie will have to try harder to get screen time — but hooking up professionally with Phaedra might just do the trick. Before that legal battle can begin, Porsha and Kandi need to hash out their differences, but by the looks of next week’s, no one can anticipate Matt’s dangerous attempts to get Kenya to hear him out.
